Beware of MotorMouths!

There are 3 kinds of people in this world: those who talk less, those who talk what they need to and those who talk a LOT! Lets leave the first 2 categories at peace and attack the 3rd one: People who talk a lot. What do they talk about? ANYTHING. Just make a mistake of starting a conversation with them and you'll find yourself becoming a victim of their non-stop chatter on various subjects ranging from synthetic chemistry of colloidal nanocrystals to rava dosa and onion chutney combination. The first time you listen to this person, you'll be awed by his/her knowledge thinking it is genuine knowledge. But after a while as you listen to that person more often, you'll realize the dark reality of these motormouths. The dark reality is, they just talk and do nothing. Just nothing! The annoying part: they repeat their favourite topics again and again even if you're not interested in that topic at all and the worst part: you end up wasting your PRECIOUS time! It can be really hard at times to have such people around you, in your family or at your work place. In family it's easier to avoid them but when it comes to work place, it is hell cuz you just cannot escape them, especially if that person happens to be at a senior level or worse, your guide/boss. So how do you escape them? Just plug your ears, scream and run away. Heh. Now, you wish you could actually do that but you can't. Best way is to simply stay away from them and when you have to face them, well, what you can do is - just sit there, plug your mind and meditate.
~Om Shanti Om~
Now, why I wrote this blog..?
FRUSTRATION!
I'm being attacked by one such 'motor-mouth' - everyday! :(

I forgot how to smile, thanks for reminding me :)

I was talking to a friend today....and he suddenly asked me if I knew Julius Caesar's story...surprised by his contradictory question, I said yes.
He then asked if I knew who Antony was... mm Antony...yeah I remember he was Julius Caesar's closest and loyal friend...he said I was right.
Confused by his odd questions...I asked him what all this was about. He said I'm like Antony.
I thought wow, okay am I really so great, thinking of Antony's achievements. I then asked him why he thought so and his answer completely stunned me... he said I am like Antony cuz I dint know how to smile.
Ha! Did he know he was talking to someone who gets punished in the class just cuz of laughing/smiling all the time? But then I just sat and pondered upon what he said. I realized there was some amount of truth in it. Maybe I just forgot how to smile in these few months cuz of the rough phase I have been going through. I immediately went and smiled at my reflection in the mirror and felt good. I realized smile is just a simple curve that sets everything straight.

So wear a smile - one size fits all! :)

P.S.: thank you so much for reminding me ribhu! :)

You ain't no scum!

Hmm..today again was one lousy Sunday. Did nothing useful. Mom called me scum. Have you seen those wet mossy green mass on the surface of the ponds? I actually felt like that too. But the irony is, even those green things are a million times more useful than me! HOW? They are just floating there all the time and spreading rapidly making it tougher to clear them out, you may say. Yes, true. But those those wet mossy green things biologically called algae do some great things out there just by floating and spreading. WHAT?
Yeah, algae are the simplest and most abundant form of plant life on earth, responsible for more than half of the worlds primary production of oxygen! They are an extremely important species. For one, they produce more oxygen than all the plants in the world, combined! For another, they form an important food source for many animals such as little shrimps and huge whales. Thus, they are primary producers placing themselves at the bottom of the food chain with many living things depending upon them. Now they are being used to treat wastewater, reducing the need for greater amounts of toxic chemicals than are already used. There are many more such applications of algae today. But one wonderful application of algae is its capability to produce oil.
Algae could produce biofuel while cleaning up other problems like sewage, effluent, atmospheric CO2 and so on thus, also being a solution to global warming. So, can we call algae the biofuel of the future? Of course! I consider it a boon in disguise. So next time someone calls you scum, tell them you are not worth it! ;)

River Flows In You

River Flows in You was composed by Yiruma, a South Korean piano music composer.
Wonderful, sure some people can play the piano, yes some better than others, but Yiruma just has a way with the piano that makes him outstanding. I've probably listened to this song about a thousand times and I'm still amazed at how beautiful it is. Words cannot express how much I treasure just hearing this piece. It grows on me!! Whenever I hear this song it just makes me feel so many things I can never explain. Love, loss, sadness, passion, inspiration, romance... there're so many emotions running through me like a 'river flowing in me'. It makes me feel like love really exists... There are no words to describe how I feel when this song is playing....calm, relaxed, beautiful? I don't know, and I doubt I'll ever really realize what this amazing feeling inside me is... I can listen to it over and over and I will still feel the same about it. So beautiful! :)

For all you Twilight fans, this song has nothing to do with the books or the movie. Yiruma did not have Edward or Bella on his mind when he wrote this. It is highly mistaken to be Bella's lullaby. It was not meant for or to be in Twilight. But I think it would have made a better lullaby than the one by Carter Burwell.

I love this song so much. It touches my heart. My soul. I hope someday, I can play the piano.
This song is one of the songs I want to play.

positively 4th street

Positively 4th Street by Bob Dylan is what i've been listening to for quite sometime.
This song is about a friend or friends that he had that he once hung out with then realized that they were superficial and were constantly trying to fit in and hide who they really were. The kind of people that take pleasure in other peoples misery and will act like they love you to your face but you know the second they turn around they would deny they even knew you. I think we can all relate with bob on this one as it seem our society just seems to keep on multiplying these types of people.

here's the lyrics..

You've Gotta Lotta Nerve To Say You Are My Friend
When I Was Down You Just Stood There Grinnin'
You've Gotta Lotta Nerve To Say You Have A Helping Hand To Lend
You Just Want To Be On The Side That's Winnin'

You See Me On The Street, You Always Act Surprised
Ya Say "how Are You?", "good Luck", But Ya Dont Mean It
When You Know As Well As Me You'd Rather See Me Paralized
Why Dont You Just Come Out Once And Scream It

I Know The Reason You Talked Behind My Back
I Used To Be Among The Crowd You're In With
But Do You Take Me For Such A Fool, To Think I'd Make Contact
With The One Who Tries To Hide What He Dont Know To Begin With?

You Say I've Let You Down - Ya Know Its Not Like That
If You're So Hurt, Why Then Doncha Show It?
You Say You've Lost Your Faith, But Thats Not Where Its At
Ya Have No Faith To Lose - An' Ya Know It

No, I Doe Not Feel That Good When I See The Heartbreaks You Embrace
If I Was A Master Thief Perhaps I'd Rob Them
And Tho I Know You're Dissatisfied With Your Position And Your Place
Dont You Understand, Its Not My Problem?

I Wish That For Just One Time You Could Stand Inside My Shoes
And Just For That One Moment I Could Be You
Yes, I Wish That For Just One Time You Could Stand Inside My Shoes
You'd Know What A Drag It Is To See you
